Sea-Doo 325 HP Tuning: Stage 1, 2 and 3 Compared
You own a Sea-Doo RXP-X 325, RXT-X 325 or GTX Limited 325 and want to extract more from the engine. The community constantly debates the different tuning stages – but what does each cost, what does each deliver, and what do you need? Here's a clear, product-based overview.
Why Is the 325 Restricted from the Factory?
The Sea-Doo 325 uses the Bosch MG1CA920 control unit – and this ECU is write-protected from the factory. That means no external software can access the ECU without a prior unlock. BRP deliberately designed it this way to prevent unverified calibration maps from being loaded.
The first step for any tuning on the 325 is therefore an ECU unlock.
ECU Unlock: The Essential Foundation
With the ECU Unlock service from M-JET, your control unit is shipped to us in Germany and unlocked at the hardware level. After the unlock, the ECU is permanently accessible for tuning software. The unlock alone doesn't change any calibration maps – it simply opens the door.
Stage 1 – approx. 120 km/h
Stage 1 is the entry-level tune and requires no hardware modifications to the vehicle. Pure software optimization after the unlock. You can run Stage 1 directly on a freshly unlocked ECU – completely plug and play after it's returned to you.
Stage 2 – approx. 130 km/h
Stage 2 delivers a more significant performance increase. From this stage onwards, hardware modifications to the vehicle are also required – for example to the intake, exhaust or pump unit. We'll discuss which changes are needed with you before the tuning.
Stage 3 – approx. 135–138 km/h
Stage 3 is the highest tuning level currently offered for the 325 platform. More extensive hardware upgrades are needed here as well. The vehicle then sits at the very top of the currently available performance levels.
How It Works
Before ordering an ECU unlock or a tune, please get in touch with us first – we'll clarify all details upfront. The ECU is then shipped to us, unlocked, and optionally flashed with the desired tune stage. Turnaround times are typically short.
For those who only want to remove the top speed limiter without a full tune: that's also possible without an ECU unlock – using the M-JET Vmax Remover, which works via simple plug and play.
Conclusion
The Sea-Doo 325 has real potential – and with the right tuning path, you can unlock it. The ECU Unlock is the first step. Feel free to contact us via the contact form for all details.
