A SCOM, short for Speed Control Override Module, has become a common solution to bypass the factory GPS speed limit on the Sea-Doo 325. But how exactly does such a module work?
How it essentially works
A classic SCOM intervenes in the GPS signal and permanently provides the ECU with a different speed value, so that the limitation no longer becomes active. For this to work, the module must remain connected to the vehicle for the entire duration of the ride.
A different approach
The M-JET Speed Limit Remover takes a different approach: It is only briefly connected to the diagnostic connector, the unlock is done once via the app, after which the device can be removed again.
